Teen Link accepts chats every day of the week from 6-9:30 pm to connect you with youth crisis specialists. On some occasions, it is possible that we may not be able to get to your chat before 10 pm if it is a busy night. If you need to talk to someone urgently, please call in for support.

If the icon below says we are available to chat, click on the link and follow the instructions. It will take you to a secure third-party site and ask you a few questions before you can log in. You may give us as much or as little information as you like or you may choose to chat anonymously.

On rare occasions, chat may be unavailable. If you are in a crisis, consider calling the Teen Link help line at 1-866-TEENLINK (833-6546) or 9-1-1 instead.

Some ground rules for Teen Link Chat:

Teen Link Chat does not work well on smart phones, so try to use a computer.
Stay focused on the chat and try to limit multi-tasking (like chatting with friends, going on social media, doing homework, etc.).
If you need to step away from the computer, please let us know and consider ending the chat and coming back later.

Teen Link chat is a safe, nonjudgmental, peer-to-peer support system for youth. It is handled in the exact same way as our phone line, but is text-based and online. We handle all chats with the same protocols and policies as our phone line, and it is just as confidential and anonymous as the help line.
